“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”

If you know me at all, you know how much I LOVE planning. That’s why I just posted a new YouTube video on my channel going over how I plan out my week every Sunday using Notion. If you’re looking for some inspiration or a tutorial on how to plan out your week, this video will be a great start!

Every Sunday I plan out my to-do list for the week, slot in any appointments or meetings, map out my workouts for the week, and create my Italian study schedule. I love being organized and @notionhq helps me visually plan out my week.

Here are some tips to planning out your week:

1️⃣ Keep it simple: You don’t need to plan out every single thing and block out every hour. I just like to have a sense of what’s happening each day and how I can work my workout and study schedules around important meetings for the day. Don’t feel like you need to fill up your days just so your schedule looks full!

2️⃣ Keep it all in one place: The reason I love Notion is because I can have my workout routines, study schedule, and weekly to-do lists all in one place. I use Notion on my desktop and love to check off my to-do list items as I go about my day. I used to use a notebook planner, but trying to fill out both was too much of a hassle.

3️⃣ Be realistic: Don’t plan on waking up at 5am if you never get up earlier than 10am. Schedule tasks and activities around your normal routines or try to form new habits that work for your lifestyle. If you know you’re more productive in the morning, try to plan studying sessions then and put your workouts later in the afternoon. Experiment with what works best, but don’t try to force yourself into a routine that doesn’t work for you.

Have you checked in with your goals lately? 🤔

So Q1 of 2021 is already over, where are you at with your goals? As I was doing my month in review, I realized we’ve already shot through the first 3 months of the year and figured I should see where I’m at with my 2021 goals.

Tracking your progress and reflecting on everything is super important! It’s important to know where you’re headed and how far you’ve already come.

So take a moment to look back at the goals you set at the beginning of the year and ask yourself some questions:

✨ Have I made consistent effort towards reaching my goals?
✨ If I’m not making any progress, what can I do to change that?
✨ If something isn’t working, should I change my routines, mindset, or methods I’m currently using in order to be more productive/effective?
✨ What am I doing well and therefore should continue to do?

These are just a few questions to ask yourself to assess whether or not you’re making progress and determine if anything needs to be changed. These can be applied to language learning, growing your social media, learning a new hobby, or anything!

For me, I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made with my Italian this year, but I definitely am switching up my study routine a bit in order to make sure I’m still advancing. Be sure to stay tuned on my YouTube channel to follow along with my Italian study routines and tips! 🇮🇹

3️⃣ Things I Learned From my Solo Adventure to Joshua Tree Last Weekend ☀️:

1️⃣ Solo trips are incredibly empowering! Having to figure everything out by yourself really forces you to take charge, go outside your comfort zone, and be ok with making mistakes along the way.

2️⃣ It allows so much time for introspection and reflection. Whether you’ve got a long road trip ahead or you’re watching the beautiful stars in the night sky, there’s so much time to reflect on your life, your past, your goals, your worries and more. It’s the perfect time to embrace peace and quiet so you can listen to your inner voice. 😌

3️⃣ Be open to ditching your plan. I’m SUCH a planner so naturally I had my itinerary for this trip all planned down to the minute. But once I got there, I listened to what felt right and exciting in the moment. Nature can really surprise you, and my favorite parts of the trip we’re actually the moments I didnt plan for. Enjoy the spontaneity and take the roads less traveled!

Even though I was absolutely exhausted after getting home, the 5am wakeup to watch the sunrise and late night watching the stars were so worth it. I highly recommend taking a solo adventure! Just be safe and smart about it. Be prepared but also be open to experience the unexpected. I can’t wait to plan my next adventure!
